Yocale works to uphold various security requirements across multiple industries and governing bodies.

HIPAA, the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act, and PHIPA, the Personal Health Information Protection Act sets the standard for protecting sensitive patient data. Any company that deals with protected health information (PHI) must ensure that all the required physical, network, and process security measures are in place and followed.

With this in mind Yocale adheres to the strict data protection and encryption requirements for the overall security of this data. Yocale takes pride in hosting our data on the Microsoft Azure servers.

Any Business or Provider obligated to HIPAA regulations must ensure their own compliance, while Yocale will support with any information or data required to prove adequate compliance.

Your Responsibilities:

Ensuring HIPAA compliance with Yocale software goes beyond simply using Yocale's protected and encrypted HIPAA-related software. It requires careful consideration of your business practices and systems to align with Yocale's capabilities.

To utilize Yocale in a manner consistent with the HIPAA Security Rule, it's crucial to take responsibility when configuring your account. This involves thoughtfully selecting the quantity and nature of electronic protected health information (ePHI) included or excluded from communications like text and email messages. Additionally, it entails entering into a Business Associate Agreement (BAA) with Yocale.

A BAA outlines the terms for safeguarding Protected Health Information shared between a "covered entity" and a "business associate." If you qualify as a covered entity under HIPAA, Yocale serves as your business associate.
