Capture and Charge a Card on File

The Card on File feature allows businesses to securely save a client’s payment card for faster checkout and easier future payments. Businesses must have an active payment account set up in order to use Card on File.

How can businesses add or replace a card on file?

Businesses can manually add or replace a client’s card on file in two ways:

1. From the Client Page

  1. Open the client profile.

  2. Go to the Client Details tab.

  3. In the Card on File section, enter card details.

  4. Confirm you have the client’s consent.

2.From an Invoice

  1. Go to Invoice > Pay.

  2. Select Manual Card Entry.

  3. Enter card details.

  4. Turn on the Save Card on File switch.

How can clients add or replace a card on file?

Clients can save or update their card on file only if the business has enabled the “Save Card on File” payment policy.

  • Business Setup:

    • Go to Settings > Online Booking > Online payment policy

    • Enable Payment Policy if it has not been enabled yet

    • Select Card on file for Policy type.

    • (Optional) Add a note to communicate your payment policy details to clients.

  • During Online Booking:

    • Clients enter their card information to complete their booking.

    • The card is securely saved on file for future payments.

  • Services (Note: You need to enable Payments in order to see the policy inside each service)

    • Navigate to Business Setup > Services

    • Select any service

    • Scroll down to Policy Type and select a policy.

How can businesses process a payment with a card on file?

  1. Open the client’s Invoice.

  2. Select Pay > Manual Card Entry.

  3. Choose the saved card on file.

  4. The business can either:

    • Charge the full invoice amount or Enter a custom amount to charge.
